BILATERAL BREATHING FOR RESILIENCE
BBR combines the extensively validated science of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and tapping and integrates it with Dr. Belisa’s BREATHE method. The BREATHE workshop includes a functional assessment of the biomechanics of the client's breathing, and then teaches them to breathe in a way that supports HRV (Heart Rate Variability, lowering cortisol, inflammation and pain. Bilateral Breathing can be used for PTSD prevention and post trauma as healing work.
BBR certification for mental health professionals is taught by Dr. Belisa Vranich and her team of Dr. Barbara Foley, Alyson Khan, and James Lopez.
Dr. Belisa has worked with veterans and combat and tactical athletes for the last decade in the US and Canada. She specializes in first responders, tactical athletes, and topics related to stress, anxiety, resilience and practical mindfulness.
Barbara Foley is a psychologist with a specialization in trauma and breathwork. Alyson Kahn is a senior level BREATHE certified instructor and advanced yoga therapy practitioner. James Lopez is a BREATHE certified instructor with a specialization in firefighters.
Dr. Belisa Vranich is a clinical psychologist and Director of Breathing Science at The Ash Center for Comprehensive Medicine in NYC. She is the author of BREATHE: The simple revolutionary 14 day program to improve your mental and physical health.
Dr. Belisa has worked with clients experiencing trauma, addiction and anxiety/depressive disorders for 25 years. She continues to work with both veterans, tactical and combat athletes as well as their families.
